Letter: We support Cockerham | Opinion

Our family supports Georgia Cockerham’s Coos-Curry Electric Cooperative re-election effort.

Georgia Cockerham is a long-time member of the Coos-Curry Electric Cooperative Board of Directors and consistently puts the interests of our CCEC members at the forefront of Board decision-making processes. Georgia is a Certified Cooperative Director and has earned the National Rural Electric Cooperative Association Board of Directors Certificate of Leadership.

Georgia’s outstanding senior management experience in finance is a valuable contribution to the deliberations and actions of our CCEC Board of Directors. Equally important, coupled with her dedication to the best interests of our CCEC members and her professional expertise in finance, Georgia is clearly not a “groupthink” board member. We found here that she was consistently thoughtful, comprehensive, and insightful in her feedback to CCEC members, as well as thorough in her work with the Board and management team.

Our family is particularly concerned about not being able to freely attend the monthly meetings of the CCEC Board of Directors and believe that Georgia, more than other candidates for Board elections, will help us restore this vital tradition.
