NCDC and NAFSCOB join forces to develop the capacities of cooperative banks

To give new impetus to the Memorandum of Understanding between the NCDC and the National Federation of State Cooperative Banks Ltd (NAFSCOB), the training academy dedicated to cooperatives, the Laxmanrao Inamdar National Academy for Cooperative Research and Development (LINAC) has launched a five-day online training program on Project Formulation and Assessment Techniques Monday.

The training program, which is fully funded by NCDC as part of its promotional program, is aimed at executives of NAFSCOB, state cooperative banks and central district cooperative banks. Executives from state cooperative banks in Nagaland, Bihar, Andhra Pradesh and Goa participated in the first of the series of training programs.

Bhima Subrahmanyam, Managing Director, NAFSCOB launched the first training program. He said these programs are intended to benefit the employees of the State Cooperative Bank. Such virtual training programs need an hour in the midst of the Covid-19 pandemic.

He added: “The training includes a combination of online courses including lectures, discussions and case studies to transfer the learning”,

Colonel Bikramjit Singh, Chief Director of LINAC, said that during the session, participants will be trained on various aspects of project evaluation, ranging from project selection to project formulation, to understanding of the project cycle and the project proposal and the various related elements. He added that this was the first training program under the NCDC MoU with NAFSCOB.

He also said that, fully funded by NCDC and operating from a sprawling campus in the National Capital Region, LINAC, in its journey since 1985, has trained more than 31,000 people from cooperative societies. LINAC, part of NCDC, is an ISO 9001: 2015 certified organization.
